Extended State Observer Based-Backstepping Control for Virtual Synchronous Generator

The penetration of distributed generators (DGs)-based power electronic devices leads to low inertia and damping properties the modern grid. As a result, system becomes more susceptible disruption instability, particularly when demand changes during critical loads or needs switch from standalone grid-connected operation mode vice versa. Developing robust controller deal with these transient cases is real challenge. inverter control method via virtual synchronous generator (VSG) better way supply system’s features boost stability. Therefore, nonlinear strategy for VSG uncertain disturbance proposed in this paper enhance stability islanded, grid-connected, transition modes. Firstly, mechanical equations VSG’s rotor, which include coefficient, are presented, matching mathematical model produced. Then, backstepping (BSC) combined extended state observer (ESO) constructed compensate uncertainty. Lyapunov criteria were used prove method’s Considering issue items, second-order ESO built estimate uncertainty external disruption. Finally, suggested validated through three simulation experiments; findings reveal that has an excellent performance fast response tracking under various operating situations.
